NON VEG FOOD
Advocate EE Saiyed, a “pure vegetarian” man has filed a PIL in the Gujarat High Court, demanding the Indian Railways to either stop serving non-vegetarian food on trains or segregate passengers based on their dietary preferences.
What provoked him, you ask? While traveling on the Rajdhani Express earlier this month, Saiyad was “offended” when fellow passengers in his compartment were served meat as per their choice. According to him, vegetarians often feel “embarrassed” traveling by train when non-veg eaters are provided chicken and mutton. His plea, therefore, demands that the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation website should segregate passengers based on their food choices at the time of online ticket booking.
